Rainstorms replenish South Jersey drinking water supply

MULLICA TOWNSHIP - While nor’easters and winter storms bring unwanted snow and rain, there are benefits to being inundated with water, one local well driller says. The storms since Jan. 1 that have dumped more than 13 inches of rainfall on the South Jersey area also replenished the Kirkwood-Cohansey aquafer, a 3,000-squre-mile reserve in the New Jersey Pinelands that supplies most of the region with clean, safe drinking water.
